2021.12.05 17:39 CaptainAntiHeroz Idk if this has been said, but Bandle City proves that the schedule of balancing the game doesn't work
Literally everyone telling you somethings broken when Azirelia dominated the meta and it took what, a month before it got nerfed?
Now we're back in verse two, same as the first, but this time just a little bit worse; where everyone knows Poppy is broken, hell you're grandma who has no concept of the internet probably knows Poppy is broken, and yet more cards are coming. Those cards will make Poppy EVEN BETTER, and then there will be another month long break of people getting fed up and giving up on the game or going on vacation, or playing only labs because it takes months to address blatant issues.
If Eternal Return can put out 2 characters a month, hotfix patch the day after a release, and do a patch in between the two week release schedule, why the hell is Riot games taking a full blown month to do their weak ass 0/-1 or -1/-1 change or +1 cost change. Thats all it tends to be and yet it takes a month or more?
To make matters worse it feels like these cards aren't getting playtested. Bandle city shouldn't have been released as an infinity value region that might as well be 'Regionless, but actually it has regions so even if it breaks the color pie we claim is established we can say its balanced because its ah-ktually only dual region!'.
If the color pie matters, than Bandle city should have a clear thing as well or more regions should've gotten dual region breaks as well so its not just one over the top region with all the new toys, but a scattering of good tools in each region, with a new slightly strong region that'll be tuned within a week or two of release, but no.
Instead we get content, nothing, minor shake up during event, meta stabilizes again into oppressive unfun thing, new cards come out, meta shake up (this time probably just buffing the already meta defining entity that is Poppy) and then a month later a balance change.
That pacing is not okay. Ever. In any game.
Idk if its a lack of tools for other regions, overperforming cards not getting dealt with in a reasonable amount of time, or the fact that there are so many hard synergy cards that are inflexible and need very specific things to be good to work, but SOMETHING isn't working and it should've been addressed a while ago.
Thats all, hopefully they'll actually do actual balance changes that mean something, and do them more regularly, but honestly I think we can all agree that right now Bandle city is a problem, and I don't know where to even begin to balance it outside of hitting Poppy with the nerf hammer, but hopefully we can all come together and give some ideas, of changes we'd hope to see come.

2021.12.05 17:39 Busy_Lock_8953 Any recommendations for the budget office chair in UK? (around £200)
I have been using the IKEA ADDE for about one year.
As I have been spending more time at the desk home, I would like to get a new chair for my back.
There are many chairs on Amazon and I can not really believe those reviews.
Would you please recommend me a nice chair around £200?

2021.12.05 17:39 Popcorn5077 CFF & Walmart - Cashback / Prepaid Debit Card
As Walmart is one of the bonus rotating categories for the CFF card this month, I want to maximise 5% back on the maximum limit of $1500. My grocery spending doesn't amount to that much in 3 months. I tried buying a $25 gift card for Google Play Store and it worked. Will it work if I do cash back or buy a prepaid debit card?
For example, if I bought some groceries totalling $20 and then did $100 cash back or even bought a prepaid debit card for that much. Would I still get the 5% back on the full $120? Wondering if anyone else has tried this to reach the maximum quarterly limit.

2021.12.05 17:39 mayneedadrink Taking “baby steps” toward undesired outcomes.
The other day, I was trying to explain something to a friend of mine who’s in the mental health field. It seemed like I wasn’t really getting my point across well, so this is sort of a vent post on the same topic.
Basically, there’s this idea in behavioral therapy that people can take “baby steps” when making changes in their lives. For example, if someone has a phobia of taking the bus, a “baby step” might be looking at a picture of a bus or looking up bus schedules to desensitize themselves. As these “baby steps” start to feel more comfortable, the client can take on another “baby step” until eventually they’re on the bus.
What I told my friend was that when something feels unsafe or violating in some way, breaking that task into small steps won’t help. If I know that doing the first few baby steps will mean that I eventually have to do the thing I don’t feel is safe for me, then I’ll quickly associate the “baby steps” with a violating attempt to wear down my defenses.
In other words, it will make my OCD and phobia issues worse. If I had a phobia of taking the bus (this is just an example), I might not necessarily fear pictures of busses. However, if looking at a picture of a bus means I’m one step closer to riding an actual one, then I’ll start to panic whenever I see a photo of one.
My friend sorta had the, “No, no, see, we start with REALLY small steps, like things that will be easy for the client.”
What I couldn’t explain was that that’s exactly my issue with “baby steps.” They take something safe and turn it into a step toward realizing my worst fear(s) or relinquishing the control over my home environment or whatever.
I could see this working if I actually wholeheartedly wanted to do something but found it overwhelming (ie: moving to a new city). However, there are countless things that I absolutely hate, that terrify me, that are expected and sometimes even required. Being manipulated into feeling a semblance of safety doing something my brain tells me is not safe is extremely psychologically distressing.
I can’t do it. What I’ve noticed is that creating a safer, more stable environment can help me to feel more capable of achieving things or of trying things I wasn’t able to do before. However, simply trying to condition me to perform an expected behavior feels dehumanizing. I’m not saying it inherently, objectively is, but I wish I were allowed to say, “I get that it’s frustrating when I do X, but it’s better to just let me do X until I’m well enough to stop than to traumatize me trying to stop me doing X.”
It seems like the idea that someone’s issues could be multi-layered and that someone can’t simply relinquish every coping mechanism others don’t like on the spot, without addressing the issues that necessitate so much coping.
